Our Vision

We envisioned the design of River Valley Ranch to enrich the natural surroundings and preserve the land's ranching heritage. Thus, the architectural theme reflects western ranch style and mountain town character. To achieve a standard of environmentally friendly design requires use of natural materials and plantings native to the area. Custodial programs have been instituted to protect the Crystal River and the Ranch, including the golf course and a designated wildlife sanctuary with a resident American Bald Eagle.

History

In 1879, Myron Thompson and his son Alex were among the very first settlers in the Crystal River Valley and the town of Carbondale. They established the Thompson Ranch at the junction of the Crystal River and Thompson Creek. Today we know it as River Valley Ranch.
